Chief Jeffry Cossette announced the addition of three certified police officers to the department roster. The three new officers were sworn in on Monday, September 15, 2008. All three officers are currently POSTC certified and will begin their field training in about two weeks.
Officer Jon Femia served with as a full-time Meriden Police Officer before leaving to go to the University of Connecticut School of Law. He remained a Reserve Police Officer for several years while working as an Assistant Attorney General with the State of Connecticut.
Officer Erik Simonson served with the Willimantic Police Department for the past three years.
Officer Michael Boothroyd served with the Mansfield Police Department and previously with the Meriden Police Department. He has nine years of experience as a police officer and is a certified Field Training Officer.
