The Community Health Education Program provides health information and education to the community.
The program's focus is on promoting healthy lifestyles.
Health education programs are offered to the community, individuals, Meriden city employees, local social service agencies, homeless shelter clients, youth advocates, daycare/school readiness providers, worksites, senior center participants, faith groups, and other public forums.
The Health Educator collects and manages health data, assesses and documents health trends, conducts and coordinates health education programs, participates in grant writing, promotes public relations of department services, coordinates health fairs, supervises student interns, conducts and organizes focus groups, handles requests for health information and referrals, and oversees pamphlet and poster distribution.
