The functions of the office of Community Development include the administration of the City's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, which provides funds for various city departments and local non-profit agencies to operate programs benefiting low and moderate income persons.

NEW! FAIR HOUSING SURVEY
As a recipient of federal funds through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City of Meriden is required to conduct an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice. The City supports fair housing and encourages citizen particpation in identifying impediments to fair housing within the community. Please take approximately 5 minutes to complete the following survey being conducted by the City of Meriden utilizing its 2009 CDBG funds. Information provided will allow the City to continue efforts to improve fair housing throughout the community. Learn what it takes to be a homebuyer.  8-hour class includes information on homebuyer readiness, budgeting, financing, maintaining a home, and other relevant topics.  Held by Neighborworks/New Horizons.
